Oak

Stripping the sheets off the bed after his own thorough shower, Oak reflected on the scene he’d just finished. It had been easy content wise, if unsatisfying without an orgasm to accompany it. But Oak had a hard time keeping the proverbial elephant in the room off of his mind.

Xaph had certainly looked interested as Oak set up for the scene. It was hard to tell the exact size of his dick trapped in leather trousers but the whole time Oak rode the purple dragon dick while holding his piss in, he couldn’t help but wonder if Xaph was larger. Or maybe he had fun accessories like a knot or ridges. Barbs like those cat shifters Oak once read about in a gay romance novel?

It had been difficult not to get fully hard during filming but his client had specifically requested no full erections or orgasms so Oak had chugged more water and pressed on his bladder to keep his mind on task.

Now dressed back in his skirt and a new top, Oak tossed the bedding in the washer at the top of the stairs before going to hunt down a snack and a demon. The demon was easy enough to find, once again standing sentinel at the front window, hands clasped together behind his back, his spine straight and his ears pointed directly at the window.

“Hungry, Red?” Oak asked as he walked passed.

“Didn’t you already eat?” Xaph asked, not yet abandoning his post.

“That was hours ago, dude. Humans need to eat multiple times a day.” Oak put together a quick sandwich and some fruit for himself before heading back to the living room and curling up on the sofa. “You don’t know much about humans, huh?” He asked.

Xaph glanced over his shoulder, eyeing Oak briefly before turning back to the window. “I have no need to know or understand the biological functions of a human. It doesn’t effect my work.” He shrugged, sounding bored. Oak watched the demon’s perfectly round and peachy ass flex as he shifted his stance, rolling his shoulders a little.

“I can show you some of my videos if you need educating on the biological functions of humans.” Oak replied, biting into a piece of an apple.

The demon growled, the tone ringing warm in Oak’s chest. “Do you ever think about anything but your dick?”

“Not often. It’s literally my job. Didn’t we go over this already.” Oak drank some water and then sighed, “Can you sit the fuck down? You’re making me anxious. Standing all tense and not even looking at me while we’re having a conversation.”

“We’re not having a conversation. You’re talking about human sexual function and I’m keeping watch.”

“What do you need to watch for?”

Xaph shrugged, not answering. Oak grunted in frustration, chomping the last bite of his sandwich and fruit. He let the silence between them hold for several minutes as he finished up his meal. The sounds of the washer running and the soft cadence of birds in the trees the only noises to be heard.

“So what happened to my table?” Oak turned his gaze to the open space in the middle of the living room before looking back at the demon with a raised eyebrow. The tall creature’s muscles tightened, his shoulders higher than before Oak’s inquiry.

“It is out the back door.” Xaph finally grunted in reply.

“And why is it out there?”

“It…I was…” Xaph groaned, relaxing his warrior stance to finally turn and face Oak. He put his hands on his hips as he spoke, fire weaving up his horns for sure this time. “I was frustrated and I broke it. I have no coin or currency for this realm but I’m sure whatever you wish for will eventually make up for it’s loss.”

“That table was a priceless antique, handed down to me from my grandfather who got it from his grandfather who’s father made it for their one room home. It’s a precious family heirloom and I can’t believe you were so careless that you just broke something that didn’t belong to you without even considering the consequences? How fucking old are you again? That was childish behavior, Red.” Oak’s arms crossed his chest, his legs also crossed, his foot bouncing in the air.

Xaph’s dark red mouth gaped at the human, at a loss for words. “I…I don’t…” He cleared his throat, “I can find a way to fix it. I didn’t realize it had such value. It just looked like a stump from the forest.” The demon was soft spoken and apologetic.

Oak burst out laughing, “I’m fucking with you.”

“You what?”

“I’m joking. It is literally a stump I found in the forest and had someone haul in here. I don’t care that you broke it.”

“So why….why would you…?”

“You were being way too serious over there, Red. Had to shake things up.” Oak shrugged, winking at the hulking form. He got a low growl in response. The demons fists clenching at his sides while he took the information in.

A chill rapidly descended on Oak. Goosebumps prickled up his arms, his eyes tingled from the cold piercing the air.

“Xaph?” He stuttered, his teeth chattering loudly. Before he could get another word out, his throat slammed closed. It wasn’t gradual. It wasn’t the feeling of hyperventilating or a panic attack where it might slowly be hard to breath. Between one cold second and the next, Oak’s airway was blocked, not a speck of oxygen could get in.

All Oak could hear was the pounding of his heart as he tried to gasp in a much needed breath. He didn’t notice when he knocked the lamp off the side table, when it crashed to the floor. The room around him darkened, blackness speckled his vision as his fingers burned with the cold and his brain screamed at him to fucking breath you moron.

The familiar bright red of a hulking demon briefly entered his vision. Oak saw Xaph’s lips moving, felt his warm burning hands grasping at his shoulders.

Then nothing.

Blackness took him.

Xaph

Shaking Oak, Xaph yelled, “Fucking breath dammit.” He thumped a hand against the human’s back as hard as he dared, least he send his fist through bone and flesh.

The human was cold to the touch, fingers and lips turned blue. Goosebumps covered his arms. Xaph didn’t know human anatomy but he knew the unnatural feeling of magic being welded against someone. Someone had attacked Oak with magic, cut off his airway so he couldn’t breath.

Xaph didn’t have healing magic or a way to counter an attack like this. He had flames and strength, violence and intimidation. Xaph could literally intimidate his foes to piss themselves in fright before they died of a heart attack. But fighting magic from an unknown source against a human? He had no powers for that.

Turning the human on his side on the floor, Xaph continued to rub his back and yell his name. It hadn’t been more than ten seconds since Oak had passed out and yet it felt like a million years to the demon leaning over him.

A blasting wind, a large bang and glass shards rained down on the pair of them, Xaph moved without thought, huddling over Oak’s prone form as best he could. Shards of glass embedded themselves in his bare back, tangling in his long hair.

Before he could do more than glance at Oak and assure himself the human had only taken a few small hits of glass, another strong wind was shoving Xaph across the room, away from the human and the now gaping hole where the large front window had been just moments before.

Xaph grunted, untangling himself from books and shelves before rising to his full height with a growl. A mage. A puny, red haired mage who didn’t look old enough to have hair on his chest stood over Oak, his hand outstretched as he chanted in Latin. Xaph knew the words but took no heed of them. They wouldn’t matter. The mages power and former spells would cease the moment he was dead.

With a roar that rivaled the sound of an incoming tornado, the demon let his powers reign free through his body. His blood boiled, his wings, tail, and talons burst forth, his teeth elongating as the fire tickling at his horns all day fully consumed them and rose to the ceiling. With one large step forward and a swipe of his hand, the mage was on the floor, gurgling out his last breath through blood pouring into his open throat.

Xaph roared in his face, the man’s eyes wide in terror as he took his last breath. As soon as the mage slumped dead at his feet, a large gasping cough came from the side.

Oak.

Blog About Ch5: Short - It's Time for Action

I realize this chapter is a lot shorter than the previous ones. When I was giving it a brief edit the other day, I thought about adding more but I didn’t want to stuff it full of just stuff unnecessarily.

It’s time for the real story to start. For some action to happen. Drama, intrigue. All those sorts of things. And this chapter sets up for that, it’s really a transitional chapter.

Do you think this chapter needs more?

What did you think of this chapter? I would love to hear your thoughts! Please remember chapters have not yet been professionally edited, so be kind about errors.
